Question Fuel pipe

The fuel line on my 82 Audi 200 has corroded beyond repair - can a new one be made as they are unavailable?

I did wonder about copper but I thought there might be a reason why not. Do you know if the pipe was any particular pipe etc - my local Motorquip does brake pipes - would that do? Thanks, Christian

Normal car brake pipe is too thin, it has to be bigger. Somewhere in my brain is the word truck brake pipe but am not sure !!!!

So anyhow, I bet you all want to know my next step... I've just bought 25ft of 7.94mm (ED) copper pipe, a bender, a cutter and a flanger (courtesy of eBay). I've pinched the end bits of the pipes off scrap-yard Audi's and once the GPO have delivered I will be making new fuel pipes!
