Default Bilstein Shock Absorbers for '85 ur quattro

the quattro has been in for a service to JL Engineering and amongst a few other things, james told me that i need new shockers all round and he said to get the original bilstein ones for the car.

does anyone have a new set for sale? what kind of money could i expect to pay for these?

thanks,

craig

thanks for that eddy. i noticed that the a&m place lists VAG original and koni for the ur quattro - i'm assuming that the VAG original ones are not bilsteins like james had asked me to get?

lefthooker is correct, boge are the oem shock. Bilstein B6 are significantly dearer but apparently really good.

Craig

I may be organising a group buy of dampers shortly, billies or Konis. Otherwise-

If you want Boge. OEM
Quattro corner
GSF

Or, try Motorsport world for Bilsteins

any idea what kind of price you'd be talking for a set, mark? dialynx have them for £90 odd a corner over 60 odd for the OEM ones. i don't honestly know if i'd spot the difference as i didn't even notice that the ones that are on it are shot!!

You're right. My UR is currently running the Boge OEM. They came from GSF for about £60 per, back about 7 years ago. They were fine for knockhill a few times, and still going strong now. The originals that came out were about 20yrs, and 140k miles.

(The only reason I am considering Bilsteins or Konis is to go with the uprated springs that Harvey had made a couple of years back. Otherwise, I would stay with the OEM, too)

If you are running a more or less standard car get boge from gsf ( use their offer code too for 10% off extra) I use gsf more or less weakly these days and they are good
