lad at work has a MK5 Golf TDi 4 Motion which is CAT C due to water ingress in to the engine due to flood damage (no water in the car)

Insurance paid out and new engine fitted.

So, he bought a £5k car for £3.5k with a new engine with warranty!

its only an insurance valuation categorisation, if its a rare model and repaired properly why not.. when theyre gone theyre gone.. pointless if it something like a 2008 astra where theres probably an identical one with no damage available down the street..

Got to get a DMB plate set soon for it, the coupe GT looks good with them. Bar from a very slight shade difference in the red on the wings you'd never expect it to have been damaged - all bolt on / off stuff. More than happy with the repairs Richie did. Just had to source some proper Sport rear dampers. I've since been through it and done subframe / wishbone / antiroll bar bushes and links. Some good quality tyres too - probably Avons as I got a good deal on the 4 for the GT!
