To my mind the facebook page should link back to here more, if people have a question on there refer them to a thread on here that answers the question. Instead it feels like us left on here are now the poor relation, like we are missing out because we haven't trotted over there with everyone else?

Now I'm not saying that it's full of people like that, indeed there are a lot of people with the right things to say, but I think ye get my drift. I think that's why we, as in all who frequent here, come here. Mostly it's no bullshit, we have a question we need to ask, we get the answers. Social media is destroying the fabric of society bit by painful bit, it's part of the makeup of things now, but, there's no reason why forums like this can't be kept alive. Facebook has it's place, and it has it's uses, but I'd pick this place over fb any day.
I second that ...

I had a security briefing on what Facebook does with your info and I deleted my (previously well used) account the day after.

I wouldn’t touch it with a metaphorical barge pole now.

You are the product, your every little online secret is being watched and sold.

I’m glads there’s a hardcore group keeping the forum going, I think the secret is to keep posting interesting stuff and taking the time to upload photos, admittedly the winter isn’t the greatest time of year, but let’s here about your winter activites

I use both. Enjoy both, for different reasons. Like others have said, a wealth of knowledge on here, and if a search doesn’t throw up the answer then popping a question and you’ll get the answer.

It’s always good to see the pics on here, but its a shame it isn’t easier. I’m still persisting with photobucket. (They’ve recently sacked off the apps on apple so have to use the website, making it harder to upload)

I visit here most days and see what the ‘new posts’ are. I would reply more but my knowledge is limited compared to many on here. Still love it on here, great friendly atmosphere. I should try and get an Aberdeenshire meet going!

Oh and i need to update my avatar! Lol

Have to agree, 37 years in IT up to the point I was made redundant in Feb 2013 when I retired at the tender age of 56, the last 18 months in IT I was drafted in by the HR team in our company to write the social media policy, guess what I avoid it like the plague.
