Thats's right,i had one of these wonderful engines in my very first Audi a 1.9cd saloon.

Unless it's been touched since the valves will be standard as Brian was not a believer in using big valves. The initials 'JK' on the head confirm its a Rickets build as JK is Jim Knifton who did the engine builds/head work.....and a fine engineer he was to.

Funny though when BR was at TSR they/he did big valve heads.
I think this is an injected engine, maybe originally was carb but its been modified for injection.

Brings back memories - after my UR MB blew its cylinder head gasket, I had BRM carry out the repair, and at the same time do the 240bhp tune involving the head work. I was there when the head was being taken off by a certain JK. Whilst we were chatting, it came out that he had also built a 1 litre inboard powerboat engine based on the old Hillman Imp engine for my power boating friend Jim Noone
