2.2 KV Idle problems
Hi there,
Over the last 6 months I've been carrying out some work on my audi coupe so it has been off the road for this period of time. Now the car is on the road it has developed quite a rough/lumpy idle after not being used for long. Over the last few weeks I've put in a new fuel pump as the old one was knackered, new HT leads, new spark plugs (bosch w6dtc), new bosch distributor cap and rotor arm. My next steps were to replace the fuel filter. The intake boot that goes over the k-jet to the throttle body has got a slight tear in that, so I was going to replace that also, and clean out the throttle body etc at the same time. It's okay on initial start up but after a minute or so it bogs down and starts to hunt around 500-750rpm. It doesn't cut out however. Is there anything anyone else can recommend from experience? Thanks in advance. |

If you’ve got unmetered air going in that tear, that will definitely be a problem

In fact check any and all of the rubber hoses in and around the inlet. there are a few sneaky ones and any one of them which is melted or perished will contribute to a lumpy idle

Same as above, sounds like an air leak. Check all the hoses, the vacuum pipes, all of them! Hopefully it's the one you've already highlighted. If none of those help, try swapping over the isv relay (behind the passenger side glovebox).
