Oil Extractor
Hi, Further to my question on longlife oil, does anyone on here use an oil extractor?
or are you like me and prefer to get covered in oil every time. If someone does and would say what make/model they use and recommend, I would appreciate that. Thanks Guys |

I bought one but wasn't impressed. It leaves too much old oil behind. Also not impresses with the valve type thing that Audi Driver were selling years ago. The thread on the plug was set too high in the sump and again 1/2 a liter of old oil left behind. I do it the old fashion way every time. To make things easy on cars with complex undertrays, I have been known to take the hole saw to the right place so you can drain the oil without removing

If you get one make sure the extraction tube is long enough that it cannot become detached inside the dipstick tube.
I've heard of that happening on a few.

Cars of age deserve you to put a little effort into it, jack it up, drain the oil, refill and repeat every 6 months or so.
