strut top bearings
Every time I hit a big bump (there everywhere around here ) it sound like I've got a kids toy under me bonnet. Is this a common problem with ord Audi's?

Yep, strut top mounts and wishbone bushes are a serious weak point on them.

If you end up changing the strut top mounts change the wishbone bushes at the same time as they will go and you don want to strip it all down twice..

If its a B3 or B4 you'll be changing the topmounts pretty regularly, the OEM ones are shit and not up to the job of controlling the weight of the car.
Easy job though with some decent spring compressors |
