Default 1985 Coupe GT fuel pump relay

Does anyone know a reasonably priced UK source for a replacement for fuel pump relay 443 906 059? Have tried Topran 103420 from GSF but that doesn't work. Hitachi 132022 is available from Autodoc but I'd like to avoid punitive postage/customs tariffs/delays if possible!

Funny you mentioned this, Frank and I have just been discussing the same, we’ve both just used Autodoc.

They are selling in GBP and collecting VAT accordingly. I’ve just bought a boost pressure valve from them, no hassle at all. Arrived on Friday about a week after purchase, no additional charges. If you’ve got multiple items to buy, I think the trick is to split the order and stay below the HMRC £135 VAT threshold. Details here.

I had the same problem trying to source one. When I got the car the fuel relay would cut out at 4500rpm. I managed to track down aftermarket part by Unipart (new old stock) but can’t find any for sale now but...

I think this one would be the correct one for your car. Best double check the part number but it’s not 100% guaranteed until you’ve tried it. Did the Topran one have the correct part number but still not work? I think I’m sure that’s what happened to me!

This was the one I found when I was looking for a potential spare

Yes, the Topran one is apparently an equivalent part, but perhaps the equivalence only works in one direction (i.e. you can substitute the Hitachi one for the Topran one but not the other way round). With it fitted the car doesn’t fire at all- the fuel pump does not prime.

I think 443 906 059, which is the original part fitted, may be different to 443 906 059A. Perhaps someone who understands part numbers better can confirm?

I can start the car by removing the cover from the existing one and holding the contacts closed to prime the pump, but it won’t work on its own. It’s been getting worse and worse over time- up to now a sharp tap to the casing with a screwdriver has been enough to get it going but not any more.

Time to sort an Autodoc order I think.

As Ian mentioned above, I have had no problem with ordering some replacement brake discs from Autodoc and they are apparently on their way less than a week since ordering.

Hope you have similar good fortune.

I ordered suspension bushes and a few other bits for my Coupe GT from Autodoc on 26/4, they were apparently dispatched 30/4 but no sign of them yet. Total price was only £50 so hoping they'll arrive this week! To be honest, when not in a rush, the Autodoc prices are hard to ignore.

Update... Arrived today so took approx 2 weeks. Not too bad!
