I saw it a few weeks ago, and was not disappointed. It would be easy to get lost in comparing the two, rather than seeing the new one, and enjoying it for what it is- a continuation of the story, rather than a sequel.

What was surprising was the lack of audience.

Saw it last thurs, very good and loved it but couldn't compare it to the original, I thought the original had more atmosphere, would have loved a bit of vangelis in it.
I read the 2 or 3 books after the original Bladerunner film came out and the new film is nothing like them, completely different story, shame really as the books continued the theme of was HF a recreationnt, it also told the truth about the off world colonies.

Still a good sequel and worth seeing

Ordered the original as the wife hasn't seen it so when we go to see 2049 she'll understand where it's coming from.Should be reporting back soon.

According to Mark Kermode it's every bit as good as we all hoped and what i expected when i started this thread months ago.
