alarm
hi i dont have any keufobs or the key to turn on or off the alarm,does anyone know any info on the alarm or done a replacement with another alarm system,think i have issues thru it with central locking but not sure,
car audi 80 b4 saloon 1992 alarm paperwork says 998 vag 139. any info would be appreciated |

Dealer fit, not quite aftermarket, but certainly not OEM. Save yourself some heartache, and cut it out.
Otherwise, a dealer may help. (Hah!) The biggest issue is the exceedingly poor quality of alarm fitting. There's a tiny percentage of fitters with any pride in the task. The rest is just utter shite, dressed up with comprehensive invoicing.

I'm thinking it might be a Quantum alarm, and as above would likely be dealer fit so quality of workmanship could depend on many things?!

quantum alarm it is just found a leaflet, but if its not working im probably better as you say cut it out, but would that not affect things, i would love to install a new alarm with central locking key fobs.

I think you need to ascertain if the alarm is in fact wired into the central looking system? Does the leaflet give any hints?

It would be interesting to know what issues you are having.
Locks not working properly, could be vacuum leaks (I'm assuming it's a vacuum system) The whole system working erratically, could be moisture damage to the pump. Where is the pump on these?

real msh the central lockings dead,wont even work with key and the pump which is in the boot and dry ,i have taken it out and just tried wiring it up directly to my charger but still nothing,it wont buzz or make a sound.

Is there a supply to the pump? Don't put any fuses in yet if they are already blown, and certainly don't fit any larger ones.
I lost an ECU due to a bad alarm wiring not so long ago. (As ever, much of input is based on working on my cars, which will be similar, but not the same) The pump requires a door switch to operate. I think it's a simple ground momentary connection when you turn the key. The pump I believe should run for a few seconds until it either achieves time out, which caters for a leaking system, or the locks close in a vacuum tight circuit.
