I remember the pictures of the stage , a lot worse than stoneleigh, we drove round some of it getting out in the van ( without a sump guard but three up with Scott's pies )

But it was slightly more complicated, as Adam Marsden had gone off ahead of Ray. In 2010 I remember Adam being epic, his start on the gravel stage was biblical, with the car chattering off the rev limiter as the clutch was dumped. The start team were left hanging in mud as the quattro headed for Australia before gaining enough traction to move fowards.

In 2011, (as above in the thread), Ray was on Hard Slicks, I was on T1R's and Tim was on a flat... Here's the video...

Ray was utterly epic in his approach... Total commitment.
