I recently got 4 rims taken from here to Oxford area, and then they were picked up and delivered to the guy up north by a 3rd person.

Silly thing to say, but we really should do more for each other out there.
Yup!!

My "real" job is running a transport company delivering cars using trade plate driver, 10 and 13 car transporters and I'm often getting them to divert for me to pick up wings, wheels parts, and even complete cars!!!!!!!!!
So, if you do need anything picking up from anywhere, give me a shout!

I've done it a fair few times where I can get a driver to pick something up from one part of the Country, keep it at my unit for a couple of days and then I'll get another one to deliver it for me!
Just wish we did trips to Germany, Belgium and Holland!!!

I suspect that if we nurtured the culture of actually doing stuff for people for "nothing" when we can, there would sooner than later be one or more volunteers to help in simple, or complex intercontinental free freighting.

I am currently looking for a ride for some Honda CBX parts to South Africa, I am happy to pay a courier, as it is for a mate, but, if like one of my mates, you travel for business with just a weekend bag, then 2kg of spares will not put you out, especially if the adressee picks up on the other side.

Easy done.

Totally! Think "Free Freighting" could be the new Free Cycle!! I like the term Rian!
South Africa is a bit off our patch and I don't know of anyone going there either but if that changes I'll give you a shout!

No problems mate, I am going to Essexxxxxx tomorrow to a BBQ with a bunch of mad Seffricans.... and will mention that I need stuff moved, I am sure someone will know someone flying out in the next few weeks.
My mate is restoring a CBX 1000 and he needs a few bits, so I will get it sorted here.

I just think that often people do not think about doing stuff for each other simply because it does not cross their minds.

Which remends me, I have a PC to pick up in Lymm, up Manchaster way, as well as a surfboard that is with Twigzy from RR's , he was going to bring it down some time ago, but never made it to Kent.

The surfboard maybe too big to fit in a car but can sort out the pc for ya somehow!

did spot them earlier!!

Would look cool but have a set of rims for the 80 for now (or until I get bored at least!!)

Putting the new rims on the 80 CD and the cookies will be going on the 1979 Audi 80 then.
