Default Part No / advice please

I am trying to order an oil pressure sensor for my '82 GT - can anyone tell me the correct part number please?

Audi tell me they can supply it but I am uncertain it's the correct item - theirs has a shorter probe than my old one.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

Depends on which one you're after...

0,25 bar, one pin, blue - 028919081D
1,8 bar, one pin, white - 056919081E
pressure gauge sender, for car made until the end of 1983. model year, with 0,3 bar pressure switch function [meaning that the another switch is 1.8 bar] - 035919561

Phisical appearance might be different due to part being superseded by something different.

Thx msh, that's useful, it's the white one I think I need.

What is the difference or meaning of 0.25 bar vs 1.8 bar? Why different pressures?

Thx

To make sure your engine have some pressure in oiling system. Oil relay working routine - warning is not activated if 1.8 bar switch is on all the time, or only 0,25 bar below 2k and both above. If there isn't enough pressure or there's failure in connection at 1.8 bar sender, warning kicks in above 2k, with some delay, if there's enough pressure to turn on 1.8 bar sender @ idle speed, warning won't happen even with 0,25 bar sender missing.

They also work oppositely to make sure you have put on wires correctly - 0,25 bar sender disconnects wire from ground at pressure, while 1.8 bar connects wire to ground at pressure.

As an additional signals oil pressure warning relay uses rpm signal from coil and alternator exciting current.
