Default 100 C1 chassis/VIN number

Hi
I'm new to early Audi's having owned split buses and beetles.
Can someone help confirm the year of this chassis number?
8011027856
And then anything else it can tell me.
Many thanks in advance
(I will need it to register the car in the UK)

Also any contacts/methods to get a birth certificate etc would be a huge help.
Rich

If you contact the registry office in the town where you were born you'll be able to obtain a duplicate, not sure of the cost

Ha ha! Sorry not sure you meant to be funny or didn't understand my post. Birth certificate for the car (common term in VW world) proof of year and model and options etc)

In the world of ur quattro's the cars don't have birth certificates, they come with a bankruptcy application form from Audi and a notice of intended prosecution from the local plod.

Not sure if this is any use?

Hi Isimmo, 'fraid all the C1 records are still paper. At best I'd say this webby will cover C2s, but more likely C3s.

Email is the only option, the records are variable, sometimes you can get an actual completion of build date, other times its the account date where it became an billable asset.

The last one I did was for 21K '73 100LS, which told me it's billable date was 2 Nov 1972.

I will PM the email address to en8rjb.

Many thanks indeed.
(I think Split screen Buses are of a similar Bankruptcy type of vehicle ha ha)

I'll let you know how I get on.
The car comes with the owners manual and dated dealer stamp, with chassis number, not an official document, but may help.

I did understand your post perhaps it was how you wrote the question that was the cause of the confusion (it may be a common term in VW world) but this is an audi forum

Just got my vehicle ID certificate from Ingolstadt. Very nice lists all the factory options etc. Only took a couple of weeks to come through.
Now to finish the welding!

Some photos of progress. The rough looking side is actually a LOT better than the other side was!
