Hi
Are you referring to these trims (that go on the external wings, doors and rear quarter panel of each side of car - x6 pieces in total): Protective Strip Trims.JPG I too am looking for a set of these trims and have been looking for over 18 months now. I have noticed that on this forum quite a few people have asked for these trims in the past and so are in demand, I also see quite a few pictures of B2 coupe missing these trims and so are likely to be in the same position as me and you. I have tried to contact Audi tradition regarding re-manufacturing these trims on numerous occasions. The response is usually not helpful and along the lines of "Thank you for your e-mail. We are sorry, but we have no new information regarding your request. Please check the search function of our Audi tradition shop from time to time, to see if your desired spare parts are on stock again. Please note that due to the diversity in the range of Audi models we cannot guarantee that every possible spare part will be available in our inventory in the future. Thank you for your understanding. Yours sincerely," Even if you manage to locate some second hand trims it is likely they may not be good enough to put back on after initial removal - The trims may not be flat enough due to the initial removal or 'pretty' enough (the metal insert inside the trim corrodes and protrudes out as well as being faded after 30 years) to be put back on - particularly if the coupe has been restored or painted. Unless 1 of the 3 happens below I am not too optimistic of getting some of these trims myself: -A batch of new old stock appears from somewhere -Audi do what they should do to for their loyal followers and re-manufacture these trims (and also other parts to keep these classics going) -Someone with the skills reproduces to a high quality OEM standard (it might be a good earner for them) |
