I was quite happy with what he gave me for it and it must have cost him a good £300 to get it transported to Suffolk, so good luck to him Needs 12 months ticket on it though

Yes, my purchaser/the seller has been in touch to ask could I assist with an anomaly that has cropped up in a HPi check someone has done that shows that the car was scrapped in Nov '11 The seller, being in the trade, had done checks with his usual company prior to purchasing from me, which showed the car as clear so its a bit of a mystery.
I didn't do any checks prior my purchase in Aug '14 and other than a stamped service history book and a couple of MOT's no history came with the car. There is a gap in the cars MOT history around that period so maybe something minor happened which due to the comparatively low value of the car at that time made the then owners insurance write it off. There was certainly no DVLA notification of scrappage in car's DVLA history I obtained and no evidence of any body damage repairs so its all a bit odd I notice the seller has tried to offer an explanation to potential purchasers by way of the new (genuine VAG) wings fitted but in fact I had them fitted in early 2015, which is clearly stated on the invoice, and was due to the usual B4 upper arch lip corrosion, so nothing whatsoever to do with the HPi marker. Its all a bit strange but it really shouldn't put anyone off buying what is a cracking and much admired car. A more realistic price now too |
