Default Had my tappets replaced .

Hi guys.
Got my car back from the garage. They replaced the tappets for me because they were noisy.
Just been working on the car while the engine was ticking over . After about 15 mins one of the tappets started ticking again ?
Should this clear up after driving the car ( and the new parts have run in ) or have they not done something correct ?
Should I complain to the garage ?

Car? Engine? Age? Any useful information?
Otherwise, take it back. In fact, take it back, anyway. If there's something wrong it needs sorting. And if replacing the tappets was a part swap in place of diagnosis, to cure a problem, then they haven't cured the problem.

1991 coupe 2.3e 5 cylinder. 148000 miles.
Its going back to the garage tomorrow because when I got it back the clutch pedal was soft. Looks like the clutch slave cylinder has stopped working while they had the car.

Could it be the brake vacuum pump on the side of the head that's noisy?? It takes it's drive from the camshaft.
Try pumping the brake pedal when it's making the noise......if noise goes away or gets noticeably worse then this could be the problem?
