Default Audi 100 2.0e poor running issue

Hi all,
I'm after some tech advice. I have a 1989 100 2.0e that's always been brilliant but just recently it's running terrible.
Starts fine and then the revs surge from 750 to 2000 rpm until warm then it idles poorly at 750. It's not really drivable. Its like a car running with the choke out or on 4 cylinders, missing and hesitating.
It's also has a lot of condensation comes out of the exhaust.

I've done a compression test 180 acrosss all 5. So pretty good for a car with 160k on the clock.
New spark plugs cap and rotor.
When I took the plugs out today plugs from 2 and 3 were soaking wet.

Is it possible the cold start injector is at fault and stuck open?

Any advice or previous experience would be appreciated.

Cheers

Unplug it if you can and see what happens.

Theoretically.

I would suggest you to start with temp sender test, as, I guess, it's RT engine with KE-jet, not K-jet. Just get yourself some multimeter and measure resistance of both sides of it, and compare it against the graph and both sides against each other. Or, if you prefer to change everything, until maybe problem is gone, then you can change it without testing

Thanks for this I’ve give it a try. Can you give me some direction to which temperature sensor it is? I see there’s a brown one at the back of the cylinder head and two on the thermostat housing, one a small single terminal the other a large three wired type.
Cheers
Peter .

Well I've fixed my issue. I was doing some more diagnosis this week and as it was starting to go dark I noticed lots of sparks coming from HT leads.

A new set of quality leads and she's running let's a rocket! Lesson learnt always start simple first.
