This is an old thread... I had a Blaupunkt Melbourne or similar in my T85q, but my current cars both have modern cd players installed which I'm looking to change back to period unit.

I've been looking for an Audi gamma Compact Cassette for my 80, preferably with a 6-disc CD changer & in my line of work I'll no doubt find one eventually. I'll put anything in the 90 as long as it's period. Both the CD player have flashy graphics, so not only are they distractions, they look daft in older cars!

Blaupunkt CD player... The other two are just as good, I would not mind any of the three.

I bet that Blaukpunkt CD player was rather a hefty optional extra at the time!!

A CDP-05 in Aug 1988 would have cost you £649.69, and the Denver unit £252.94

You then had to add speakers, fitting, etc.

A Berlin IQR87 would have set you back £1437.44....... And thats not a typo!

I have a new and unused CDP-05 and a new SQM-108 in their boxes up in the loft

well I can't contribute with an old stereo but I do have a rather nice Pioneer catalogue which came with the coupe. In very good condition, heres a few snaps to make your mouth water and take you back a bit.

fantastic 80's goodies.. good find.

Around 6 years ago I lent a Pioneer carlos fernando tape player with silver knobs and all sorts to a friend. Who had his nova broken into whilst he was in southend, so that was the end of that.

That would have been worth some decent money now.
