Aye, the rr has been sorn’d since start of October. Keeping the cabriolet on the road over winter though, and the rs4. They dont get used much but are a nice back up if one of the daily’s are off the road for whatever reason.

Tried using mine during winter 3 years ago but around here they put so much salt/sand down you could make a sandcastle at the side of the road!!! And when I came to clean underneath in early March the amount of corrosion starting on wishbones, undershields etc made up my mind to put it away for Winter each year... In addition I cannot afford to get the bodywork done again either so need to look after it. Oh and I think I suffer from a mild OCD problem regards my cars

Yep I have always used the continental belts without issue, its the manufacturer of the pump and idler I'm not sure about, Think I used Febi last time for both but not know until I get everything stripped down and see how well they've survived

There is always something to stress me out with this car and I guess the same for most running these old Audi's
I have noticed a very slight oil smell from the exhaust when hot and ticking over for the last 2 years but as there is no smoke at all on either the over run or WOT I've not been too concerned, however whilst changing the plugs as part of the annual service I noticed a small amount of oil in No2 cylinder (less than 1/2 teaspoon). After some thought this is clearly because one of the exhaust stems seals on No2 is passing oil, either the little spring has gone on the stem seal or the seal itself is perished. So dilemma. 1) Do I continue to live with it as its only an issue at tickover as at all other times thanks to the turbo there is positive pressure so it doesn't leak past or 2) do I find a way to replace the seals without taking the head off by pressurizing the cylinder or 3) go the whole hog and strip the whole top end and run the risk of requiring a head skim and all the other cost issues associated with this . Option 3 is not really an option this year as no funds or time for this amount of work and likely be out of service until next November and beyond.. Brilliant

I've been running mine all year, it's nice to have the odd day when you look outside and it's a nice bright dry day and you go what the heck i'm going to use the coupe also it had MOT early in the year so had emissions issues with old fuel and car not being used. Last year l had to use it for a couple of weeks after an idiot drove into the side of my daily and l was give a horrid i10 , but it did need a proper clean after 2 weeks
