The KIA C'eed daily that I use has DRL's but also have separate lights for shall we call 'corner assist' built within the headlights, a H7 bulb wedged between the dip and mainbeam facing outwards on a 45 degree and switches on whilst cornering out of junctions and such like.

On the 08-12 B8 A4 you can turn them off in car menu.
I like the rear indicators doing the line thing. There was a big argument when drl's were proposed by the EU because bikers felt that they would not stand out like they used to if everyone now drove round with lights on. Does the future now mean the UK wont be needing them!! |

I must be one of the very few on here who like new Audis.
Before my T5 camper I had an A3 sportback as a daily - with xenon lamps & DRLs - which I just left on "Auto". I liked the look of them and believe they can serve a purpose, during daylight hours. How often is the excuse in a collision "I didn't see you". LED DRLs usually dim when the headlamps or indicators are on too. That said, I've seen countless drivers at night with just DRLs on - they're clueless as the dash illuminates. In VCDS I had the option to enable cornering fog lamps, something which I'm not a fan of - so didn't use them. I do however like the new sweeping indicators, it's a nice touch. |

Sadly it's gimmicks like these that sell cars these days.....and when related control units fail in 15 years time*, may be enough to render the car uneconomical to repair and so what sold the car all those years ago is the same reason for it being scrapped/recycled!
Ok I'm pushing the scenario a bit! * 5 years if it is French. |
