Default ABS and oil warning lights flashing together?

As the title states, got both dash warning lights flashing together now.

Started out of the blue today, they don't stay on the whole time. Can go off for a while but will come back on again after a short break. Checked both the brake fluid and engine oil levels, no issues with either.

New pads fitted a week or so ago and oil and filter changed at the start of the month.

Pointers, ideas? Anything other than "sell the car" much appreciated

Have you got a battery voltage gauge? Check it's not making high voltage...

Could be a symptom of the voltage regulator failed on the alternator... BTDT.

I only have the Aux gauge in the console. I don't have a separate tool to measure it at the battery. The aux gauge look normal, making no more than 14v or so when running. Obviously not sue how accurate that will be though.

That should be accurate enough, it'll be bent around the 16.5v pin on max if it was the voltage regulator... It was just a thought...

Just to close this out:

Replaced both the temp sender and multi function plug in the engine bay and fitted a new thermostat a while back. Lights now off, problem (whatever it was) sorted.
