The body shop boys are viewing the car tomorrow so I'll have a chap with them , including the replacement panel into the conversation and see what they think....hard to judge from pictures , but perhaps cutting the bottom part of the panel and re-positioning MIGHT be an option....I'll see what they say. They also have to see the rest of the car tho'........

Thanks Bruce and Mark for your encouragement, sometimes I wonder why I get myself into these situations..... and I always come up with the same excuse...." it seemed like a good idea at the time your honour"

Well, I should have guessed really......got the quote from the two guys I trust with welding and spraying work and it is just NOT practical. One thing I learnt from my last job is that sometimes you "just have to turn back" .
The car is back on the dreaded fleabay, and whilst I will continue to try to get the engine serviceable, I have to draw the line at throwing THOUSANDS at the project. Some you win and some....well for me at least, you just have to walk away from.

Well the quote for bodywork and re-spray was near the 4K mark so you can see my dilemma as I'm already 2K into it. But after half a sleepless night , and then 5 hours of good sleep thanks to a sleeping tablet, have come up with a possible solution in my mind at least. Get welding done and MOT , then re-think my options. Depends on the cost of the welding.....
Not a lot of interest via eBay so I may just have to "bite the bullet".
