This statement from the first link just goes to show that Audi are seriously falling behind with the times when it comes to supply & demand for their older vehicles: Mike Symonds said: “The car can be restored by Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell.....”
As far as the Aston's value (£1m), did anyone notice this comment from the second link?: "It will not be written off because the owner probably had to underwrite it himself. When you have lots and lots of money, you get to insure yourself." I heard a similar story recently from a neighbour who sells prestige cars, whereby one of his customers could no longer get his car insured by a company due to it having increased considerably in value. Why the DB5 owner was even driving the vehicle on a weekday during lunchtime traffic is anyone's guess, MOT perhaps?, either way, a very sad sight indeed, and made more so by the fact that both the driver and his son were injured; my thoughts and prayers are with them both. |

It's sad that there was this crash, but it could also be destroyed while being parked on the side of street, or even in garage. So what has to be done with expensive car - should it be buried in a concrete box, forgetting that it could be driven? |

Loving that too....especially as I'm an ex-Capri driver (six of them, maybe more, memory loss)
and I find trees jump out at me more than lampposts/traffic lights, I hate trees |
