Got some pics, just hope they come out.
First is slight mod to inside of wheel to avoid carrier and caliper catching the wheel: 2Nd shows the difference in pad size from the original Cq to the new larger A4 caliper: Found I have a VERY slight ding in one of the wheels after a pot hole lasy year so once brakes sorted both wheels going for a refurb and to make round again. Not been much of a problem under 75 but quickly shows itself once at 80mph

Short chat with Mark at AutoMark today and car booked in for its final mapping session on March 12th. Hopefully all goes to plan on getting the boost reliable at 26psi. Been 4 years since the last visit when engine had only done 3k miles so hoping with some tweaking it might get over 430bhp A similar spec engine in a Ur with this turbo is producing 470bhp so shouldn't be too hard....

After some fettling, 288mm discs and A4 calipers fitted, Just 1mm gap between caliper and wheel which will improve once the pads wear down a bit..

It was always going to be a tight fit, No idea how they got 295mm discs to fit the Sport quattro!!!!?

I have a pair of sport 295mm discs (machined on hub outer face) and some front boxster brembo calipers to go on my UR when I finally get round to getting it back on the road, they came off another ur running standard 15inch wheels so I know they fit but clearance is very tight, remember the extra 7 mm (288 v 295) is actually only 3.5mm closer to the inside of the wheel, problem is getting calipers with sufficent clearance to fit over the discs. On my B5 1.8tqs A4 I upgraded the 288mm discs to 312mm using A6 rotors and early S3 carriers but kept the standard A4 calipers (57mm) as the S3 uses 54mm calipers which look physically much smaller even though they take the same pads. |

Buckled wheel now sorted, Apparently the back face was out of round by 3mm now only 0.5mm, This and the race bushes made for unpleasant vibration from 70mph onwards..
Only issue now is the VERY spongy brakes, been up the drive and travel of pedal dangerous, spent yesterday trying to bleed the whole system but little better. Can only guess it might be the master cylinder seals......
