Default ur exhaust system.

Hmmm being looking at possibles for an exhaust system, only can find Fox in germany ( dont want it, its made of shytey 304 and will crack) or milltek which is just insanely highly priced.

Time was that ansa and borla I believe used to also supply systems for our cars but no longer it seems.

I will probably end up having to make my own for a fraction of the milltek one.
Unless you of course know where i can get a good system for reasonable cash.....

Thought about approaching one of these specialists for a custom made job?

I think Roger Galvin does a very good Stainless Steel copy of the original system for around £500 @ vat.

No direct experience myself I have heard good reports on fit and quality

Not really my cup of tea David, I reckon theyll all be made from the nastiest cheapest form of stainless, youve probably seen the stuff im referring to that breaks out in big rust scabs after a while, its that kind of crap im wishing to avoid really.

I do already have a scorpion back box to fit the ur, the centre box is still available for 418 quid (ouch!) from audi tradition so possibly I could go that route and thatd leave me with only a partial downpipe to fabricate up....will see what Roger says on his system in the meantime.

Thanks for the help fellas.

My scorpion system is just a couple of components. A fairly simple single box centre section, almost straight, and the rear transverse box.
In my case, it's the rear box which is proving a problem. Now I've got a crack in the box skin which is rattling and blowing. Seriously thinking of skipping the whole thing, and fitting the Miltek. How much is a miltek system?

The Millek stuff seems to vary from 700 to 900 plus which is a rather hefty profit markup I think.

Have sent an email to Roger so will probably go with that option as I've also seen the article on his system in a magazine and it did look very well made.

That's a shame about the Milltek, but I'll make enquiries anyway. £700 is the same as Audi were charging for a standard system back in the mid/late 90s. Such a shame that Scorpion quality dropped so much. Maybe I'll just rework mine....

I absolutely love our 3" scorpion exhausts, both the Ur and the rallyrep has one. As Mark says, its a fairly straight bit of pipe, expecially without a centre box. The only tricky bit really is over the back axle.

PS - Bin your centre box Mark, ya big jessie...

Bin the middle box? I'm half deaf already! I can barely hear what women say...
