Default RIP Sir Brucie

RIP Sir Bruce Forsyth.

Britain's best all round entertainer.

Thank you for the many hours of laughter over the years.

You should have been Knighted many years earlier.

This is the ending of an era.

It's a shame, yet another icon gone

Apparently his last joke in his last days was " I have been very very busy being ill "

R.I.P. Brucie !

Legend. The term national treasure is so overused but it certainly applies to Sir Bruce Forsyth

Yep, to all of the above. Saturday with the generation game was my first viewing.
They definitely broke the mould when Bruce was made.

Gone but not forgotten!

My Saturday nights viewing back in the 70's with my mum and dad was my first memory of Sir Bruce, Strictly was not my cut of tea but I did see some of the shows at my mums, but as always age catches up with you and we say fair well to another man we have all laughed with at some time with his witty one liners, a pure star that may never be replaced.

Whilst I admire the guy, I first watched him on Saturday night at the London Paladium in the sixties, he was VERY entertaining.
He gave many decades of entertainment.
I just don't understand why anybody in the entertainment world, Bruce, Cliff Richard etc should receive a knighthood for services to entertainment, they have all made a lot of money.
The honours list should be for amateurs

The honours list should be for amateurs[/quote]

Knighthoods and Damehoods are supposed to be awarded to someone who has made a major contribution to their field, at a national or international level, and usually following previous awards such as OBEs or MBEs. Their contribution should normally be made over a number of years.

Therefore, I don't see how they could be limited to amateurs, especially when you consider the level of expertise required in most of the eligible areas...
