Worth checking the earth connection on the back panel near the rear clusters, or could be the bulb holders. My side/brake lights used to dim/brighten with the indicators.
Cleaning all the connections resolved it.

It’s my front sidelights!
Maybe a cup of coffee and the circuit diagrams later... |

Still check the earth for the rear lights. If the circuit for the brake lights is earthing via the side light circuit you probably won't see the tail light filament glow. The tail light and front sidelights are in the same circuit so the fronts will glow as well. The toe bone is connected to the foot bone, the foot bone is connected to the ankle bone, etc.......... |

its weird, because they are LED's so its not a reverse current flow, and the front sidelights are lit up by being given a positive supply-so shouldnt be affected by the brakes-depending on where the 0.5mm red/white wires are connected under the glovebox.
I had a look at the wiring diagrams, but they do not help, and i cant find the red/white wires under the glovebox to take the matter further there. I expect i'll forget about it for a bit and worry about other stuff |
