Default fuel pipes rusty

The fuel pipes (braided steel ones) from the KE-JET metering head to injectors are well corroded (well the ends are). How important is this, and can I get new ones made up???

My underneath fuel pipes have been replaced by copper and passed an mot Think you can get all the fuel braided ones repaired, you just need a fuel injection specialist .....I do stand to be corrected though if anyone knows better.

is there a question mark over copper fuel lines then?
Part of the rear of my return pipe went a bit leaky, I just cut it off and replaced the flexible with a piece 18" longer ! I did wonder about Kneifer pipe( spelling? ) but didn't get beyond thinking....... I'm sure that it is stronger than the 'ordinary' copper pipe.

I replaced all of my solid fuel lines with 8mm copper heating pipe. It is perfect dimensionally and soft to create the flanges at the joints (I also used a sealer available from Frost's). Copper pipe should withstand at least 300psi and Jetronic runs at 75psi. Flexi pipe is fine as far as I know but I went for copper to try and keep it as original as possible - the colour looks nice too!

Brake pipes are way too small, the proper flanging tools are expensive - I used a £4.99 eBay purchase to do mine...

The pipes I need are only available from main stealers at £53.50 EACH + VAT!!!

I'm going to contact Pirtek to see if they can do anything cheaper:

Will let you know.

Pirtek said the pipes are too small, spoke to a mate who popped round on Friday, he got a fuel pipe for his Aprilia made up at a motorsport place near Castle Combe circuit for a fraction of the main dealer price.

Will try them in the new year.
