Default Headlamps not bright enough -upgrade options

Anyone know of any good options to get more light output from the existing headlamps? It's on an Audi 200. I don't want to put driving lamps on if I can avoid it. Maybe an uprated bulb e.g. the following?

I'm looking at testing Philips X-treme Ultinon LED 6000K for our A180 CDi, both low and high beam are H7's so easy to test.

They do require extra space behind the mounting (IIRC 70 mm) so measure once and cut twice... er... or something.

Russian (sorry) but his test show Osram standard H4 29,2 KLux @ 13,5V and Philips LED H4 75,8 KLux ... Talk about daylight

Maybe you're not getting enough volts to the bubs, it's a problem on some cars if there's no relay?
Checking for voltage drop between battery and bulb connections on both feed and earth circuits would give you a total voltage drop.......you're looking for as little as possible.
I'm not sure if the 200 has lighting relays, maybe it does?

I agree, check the voltage at the bulbs, anything less than 12.5 volts = crap light output, with direct feed through relays you will see 13.5-14 volts min makes a big difference with standard bulbs even better with higher wattage bulbs or something like Osram nightbreaker plus bulbs but be aware the upgrade bulbs won't last very long running at 13.5-14 volts which was why I used higher wattage ones (100/160 H4 dip/main and 160 H1 main from memory) 4 years ago when I did my 80 avant quattro, lumens output doubled.
