Brake Bias Valve
Hi All,
I hope I have the right name for this bit, it is on my lovely GT 5S Coupe. It is just behind the driver side rear wheel, to control the flow of the braking power (from what I understand) to the right wheels so you do not have too much front or rear braking. Right now I have explained it, is it possible to get a repair kit or does anyone have a replacement or know where I can get one as I have been told mine is leaking..... I hate MOTs, this is continuing from the previous lot of work.

It's called a brake force regulator. Part 17 on the diagram below.
Part number is 443614151H and retails at about 140 Euros so at the current exchange rate about £140. VAG main dealer should be able to supply. I have a similar situation with mine. Managed to get a brand new one of ebay for a tenner but must admit I struck lucky. Mine was an advisory at last years MOT so as much as I'd like to, afraid I cant sell it on. |

Hi Emjay,
Thank you for a quick reply, do you know if you can get rebuild kits for them?

Do you (or anyone else) know if one off a newer Audi will fit? I hve been offered a second hand one off a 1986 Coupe for £30.00 and also one off a "G" Reg coupe.
Will these work? Otherwise if I can not sort then until further notice another great classic goes to meet his maker in the sky.

Here are the pictures of what I have been sent and the "D" reg Coupe the bits are suposedily from.
Is the brake Bias Regulator from this car? Or have I been sent the one from a different car?

Jonathon,
that bit is correct for that car but not for your's. Your's is a different type as shown in the diagram. I'll get mine from the garage and post a pic up in a mo so you will know what it should look like |

i thought the later version would still have the same regulator.
Any Ideals on am other cars I could use one from? I have no where to store the car so would result in scrapping it if I can not sort soon (road tax runs out end of month). Silly question, but could I just by pass it and have the brake pipes run right through?
