Either way, it looks like this car will end up back on the road, in one way or another.

Not necessarily. Depends how severely alight it was and if fuel tank had burst. Using just water under high pressure can be very effective.

Aye, very sad for Mark.
On the bright side, at least someone will buy and restore it , thus keeping the quat on the road.

Well...….wasn't expecting her to reappear - not in one piece anyway.....

whoever buys her has a MASSIVE hill to climb to put it back on the road......the pictures don't do the damage justice.....it really is burnt under the bonnet - and the head has warped - so I guess the engine is finished - all bushing on the front has gone - dashboard - interior and leather is toast - all glass is black from smoke- wiring loom in the front has gone- - that car burnt upwards from the fuel spill on the floor - I guess the transmission is damaged as well.

The only untouched bit is the rear of the car -

The wings were perfect until the recovery of the car - they got crushed by the straps used to lift her onto the recovery truck.

The insurance company would not let me have the car back for less than £10K - not even open to negotiation- would be interesting to see what he paid...….

The FB only used water.....but a hell of a lot of it - they spent 15 mins cooling down the O/S strut mounting - and kept looking at it through a thermal viewer until they got the temp down to 75 degrees.

I would have loved nothing more than to put her back on the road......she was part of the family for 25 years.....but it was just insurmountable - for me anyway....

Yeah it sounds like they managed to get it a lot less than the 10k if they are selling it for 11k. I would think they paid no more than £7000.

I am just gobsmacked this is being stuck back up for sale with essentially no more than a "needs a bit of TLC to get it back on the road" description.

I dunno, might have been £10k, after all, that would be a nice easy quick no warranty sale for someone and one thousand pounds in the pocket for 2 hours work..

But yes, that description is not exactly full of information is it?!

now up at 6,250

needs new engine, front suspension, interior, wiring, dash, etc etc....

I suspect an outlay of 6k is recoverable for parts, but a rebuild would not be economic..

Every £1 spent now is a £1 wasted....
or am I wrong (wouldn't be the first time..)
