The cq i have [kv,86], when running the temp gauge goes straight to high reading, and the temp warning light is flashing, meanwhile the car is not overheating, the fan cuts in /out eventually, any ideas as to what sensor ? is goosed

Should be the bottom brown sender on the nearside of the block. The top white one is the oil pressure warning sender ( sounds buzzer ). However check the rad temp sender also on the bottom nearside corner of the rad.
