water temperature gauge stopped working
Hi,
i disconnected the battery to repair a wiring issue to the boot lid of my audi 80 cabriolet, on re-connection of the battery the water temperature gauge has stopped working, all other gauges seem fine. The water warms up OK and the fans kick-in OK. Anybody any idea what the cause may be?? thanks jeff |

Hi Jeff, unless you accidentally popped a fuse or something, I think this is purely coincidental and that your temp gauge is suffering from the classic dry solder issues which usually messes with temp gauge and fuel gauge causing intermittent faulty readings on both or either.
There will be plenty of info in the archive search regarding the removal/cleaning of the solders in the dash pod/binnacle if you choose to go this route as a simple first step. Good luck mate Stuart |

Yes , I hope it's just a coincidence, will remove the intrument cluster and run over the solder joints.
Thanks Jeff |
