I have PM'd him but if he's got a new bit on the go, then visiting forums are not on his agenda!
He's a student nurse and he's outnumbered by women by about 20:1!!!! I'll be seeing him at the pub tonight anyway! |

sorry gents up to my nuts is girls ....... pah I wish!
right first , to drop the front loosen the the hub nuts with the car on the ground jack it up , then do the track rod end ball joints and the like , then do the strut tops and it should all drop down and you can slide the hub and strut off the drive shaft. the rears are easer, Get in the boot (that works for girls) pull back the sound deadening and in the corner you will find the top of the rear shock, its a 6 mm nut I think and you need some needle nose mole grips to hold the shaft (coxy dont be a perv... fhnarr) undo it and dont drop the nut or the spanner as you will not be able to get it back from the dark cavern of the boot! now have a cup of tea........ after your tea........... jack the side you are working on up using the body, take off the wheel and undo the bottom shock bolt and tap it out ...... and bobs your uncle. put slammed suspension in its place. if you get really stuck and cant find a manual for it , the early passats are a very similar setup. hope this helps a bit |

Not much else really, unless you wanted to change the shox.
I put lowered Spax shox on mine as i went for a 60mm drop but you shouldn't be bottoming out with the 45mm drop. but don't quote me on that!! |

Not allowing for the time it takes to change the springs!!! (allow about 10 hours) although, you could get an angle grinder and cut the old springs............... ........actually, that's not a good idea, despite what you may read in Performance VW! |
