Default How to for 2.8 v6 cambelt change??

Hi guys,

I keen to try and do this myself, competent DIYer but i’ve never done a cambelt.

I’ve tried searching on here but a ‘How to’ wasn’t forthcoming.

Does anyone have one, or has done it and can give me advice and pointers..

TIA

Isn't a particularly difficult job, but there are a couple of tools for locking the camshafts and crankshafts, and possibly a puller required for loosening the cam sprockets

Thanks John, yeh, been reading about the special tools...crank shaft locking pin and a camshaft locking tool.

Would anyone have these and be willing to send me to borrow?

Not the AAH but the 30v engine, even so it's pretty much the same.

I think ive got the cam locking tool coming from a guy called Richard, but it would be great if you had the crank shaft locking pin?

Happy to pay return postage clearly!

Thanks,
Guy

Folks, is it easier with the bumper off this job? I’ve got the time, so if it is easier, then i’ll take it off.

Got all the tools Guy. If you only need the crank locking pin send me your details and I will get it to you.

I would not bother taking bumper off as the radiator is in the way and you can’t see the 6mm Allen Key head pulley bolts without moving radiator.
