I know this is going to sound harsh, but the time to think about contacting Cage manufacturers and suppliers like Custom Cages, Safety Devices or businesses like AM Cars etc is when you've got the funds (say, approx £2K cage/shell acceptance prep) set aside for it. Not, as a whimsical pipe dream. Please don’t take this as a negative, however, if I was to show you the cost spent on the RallyRep, you really would be shocked. Never under estimate the amount of money you will spend on RallyReps and track cars. Please.

he can get quotes and do a 'tot up' of the total costs involved without doing too much harm i'm sure.

u just know fings like dat coz you're old.. innit!

so... if you knew the costs of creating your own car, before you did it, would you do it again in the same way..?

In a word...

No...

I'd wait for one that was 9/10th's complete like Nige's Sanyo car and buy that, then spend the odd spare £10k on top to fettle it.

This cage in my last car in T45 with strenghtened strut tops and fitting a new foof panel,flock and mod dash came to £3300. Done at RS fabs banbury.
