Also if you look at the boot lid on a saloon a B3 one is virtually straight, where as the B4 the boot lid edge is quite slanted.

No, I think the B3 has it's own beauty on itself and there's no need to try to turn B3 into B4 - if someone wants to turn B3 into something, then it should be at least B7
