Default 01E into typ85

I have finally bitten the bullet and bought myself an 01E six speed gearbox.
I know it's not a diect replacement.
Does anyone have the rundown of all the parts I need to acquire to complete this swap?
Many thanks
Chris

Tried the search, but can't find anything.
Ideally do not want to go the 5 stud conversion
Cheers

a 6speed linkage will be required, together with the gear lever(which will need modifying)unless you chop the raised section of the s2 tunnel and weld it in,the x member is different as the 6 speed mounting is in the wrong place(nearside only..offside should be same)ball joint sizes are different if you use 6 speed subframe.......you will be better off getting gearbox mounts made up to fit the origanal x member(or subframe)....clutch centre plate is different....only easy thing is it bolts to any 5 pot engine...good luck with the project...more info on quattro forum or s2 forum....i have been informed there will be an artcle about this conversion in audi driver mag

Rob,
Thanks for the info. I may well go down the S2/ Audi coupe subframe route to help with roadholding issues (ie standars AARB's). I have changed my wishbones to cast ones from the standard pressed jobbies, so I am running S2 balljoints already.
WHat about drive shafts and the prop shaft?
ANy more innfo or links to this conversion would be most helpful and I will bviously keep my eye open for the article.
Cheers
Chris
