Default Cq Clonk and understeer!

I have had a clonk from the front suspension for a while now and it's been getting progressively worse and more worrying it now affects the steering too. A bit frightening on Saturday on a fast ‘right hander’ when the nearside clunked and started getting understeer, on straightening up found the steering wheel was at 10-15 degree different angle on the straight ahead position. Next ‘left hander’ and clunk and on straightening up steering wheel was level again... Went under the car and having checked the balljoint previously looked at the Powerflex bushes that seem OK themselves, however the wishbone on the near side appears to have moved/bent ever so slightly, maybe due to excessive braking or acceleration as the mounting to the subframe on the nearside now has a gap between the Powerflex bush and wishbone that the offside also has but to a much lesser degree, its only about 2-3mm but guess if it shifts the wishbone back 2-3mm thats quite a change to the tracking. It means I am taking corners much slower at the moment....
Thinking I might go back to the normal rubber mount, though felt the Powerflex type did sharpen up the handling slightly... Anyone else had issues with the standard wishbones ?
How much power can you put through these series 2 wishbones before problems occur ?!

Thought I'd put this in the right thread..
Took 4 hours yesterday to remove wishbones, fit new balljoints then shoot to work to press in OEM bushes and refit back on car, ensuring they were only fully tightened up once car on its wheels.
Gone is the clonking, the wayward steering and vibration at speed. Moral is stick to OEM bushes and avoid Powerflex. Just need to get tracking done now...

No....Well I was......but that picture of my George Micheal phase is for another thread!!

Just well informed through years of swapping poxy uprated bushes back to original ones after getting sucked into all the hype and fancy colours!!!!!.....They are great if you pootle around on the road, but as useful as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest when you are on it.!!.....Just my opinion.

"Cq Clonk and understeer" sounds like a good name for a band??

We have solid delrin wishbone bushes and solid aluminium subframe bushes, so there's no give anywhere, makes it a lot more precise but I don't think I would do it to a road car.
With a little bit over 300bhp we haven't had any issues (yet) with the standard ur quattro wishbones.
It doesn't do many miles, although they are quite hard miles .
