Agree, nice looking car and when was the last time you saw one.

Reg. "LWE....." from Sheffield if I remember correctly.

I restored the Spitfire below registered on LWE 233D and used it as a daily car for 5 years.
Sold it in 1993 and it is still kicking around.....currently SORN but only ran out of MOT 23rd July this year. . Must have done something right !!!

Love the Spitfire, we were looking at those for a future project when the 100 dropped into our laps!. Yes LWE was from Mansfield, 2 owners from new, been stored in a carport for 25 years. We got it home and all the electrics work, and a minor bit of coaxing started up too. Owner wax oiled underneath, so all looking good so far!

Hi and thanks for the kind comment.

I really do wish you all the best in your project, great news that a lot of the basics are there.
How long have you planned for the restoration? Must keep us all up to speed and lots of pics.

You have a good few of us hooked in already!!

Cheers, probably the most ambitious I've tackled. 4 months just on metalwork, 9 months in all, back to bare metal and full mechanical and interior overhaul.
Paintwork was passable at best but not bad for a DIY respray in a single garage.

Helped too that there was a Triumph specialist (Anglian Triumph Services in Ditchingham) literally round the corner

Possibly the only thing I have owned that was older than me!!!!!!!!

The restoration will take as long as it takes, but what we tend to do is get them roadworthy and use it for a bit and deal with problems as they arise. Rolling restorations. Hubby has just started on his Singer Vogue as that's been waiting for my CQ to be done!
