Back plates for B3
I've started stripping the B3 2.0E front brakes and the back plates look rammy. After some careful large hammer work to try to remove one last carrier bolt (the bugger is STILL in place - more will follow) the offside plate disintegrated just from the vibration. So, I ought to replace both. Can anybody point out where I am best getting them from?

I'll be needing these as well in the not too distant future. Curious if they're available.
I remember reading somewhere of someone making alloy ones for URs' I think ?? |

They were stainless steel John, the one's being made for UR's i mean. 7 Zap lists all B3 back plates, tells you which go with which engine code too, then you have to find out where you can get them. |

I've got a new set of these and had always held on to them with the intention of getting copies made.
Much interest ?

Only fronts, not for sale until I've had a quote on remanufacture.
You can get the rears from the Swiss site http://p-arts.ch/

OK Mike, if you do get a price let me know. Do you know of any that can be adapted, say from a B5 A4 or some such? I know that original is best but needs must.

For info, the later B4 fronts don;t really have backplates just a very small plate that protects the balljoint, looks to me like a cost cutting exercise on the later cars.

I think I'm going to take my goodish one down to GSF over the hols (the only reason I teach - the hols) and see what they have as a sort of mix and match. I'll keep everyone posted when I get a result (or if I get one...)
