Potential purchase

Hi all,

It's been a long while since I've been on here what with work and a few other things that have cropped up

and I need a bit of advice.

The Gta is in bits at the mo as have been fitting a Quaife diff, new clutch and when that's done it needs the belts doing

. Am not going to use it over the winter months so she'll be laid up.

My work is shifting premises at the end of the month to a site a good few miles away so now I need a winter hack. Have seen a '97 A4 Quattro which looks in good nick with a decent history but it's done 200k !!.

Question is, if it all appears ok, should I expect any issue's with that mileage ? and bearing in mind the miles it's covered what would be the things you would look for ?.

Sh*t, forgot to say it's a 2.8, has 10 months mot, 2 owners from new and is for sale at £500 !!!.

those 2.8 quattro's are pretty good same engine as the 2.8 B4 at that money i wold say go for it just look for rust and gearbox/drivetrain issues and also headgasket issues

Cheers Josh, anywhere in particular for rust on these ?, also read somewhere about checking for water in the passengers foot well and around battery area ?.

rear arches bootlid front wings also check the rear brakes arent rusty as the calipers seize
