Default WUR rebuildFuel pressures B3 KV

Guys

Been checking the operation of the WUR on E-Lad today with a pressure guage. Anybody have a definitive answer on the correct pressures and temperatures for it?

Part number for the WUR is 035 133 403E

Cheers

There's numbers for this in my 2.6 thread. I had the regulator rebuilt so before & after...

System pressure set to 5,0 bar.
Cold at 10 degrees 0,9 bar.
Cold at 10 degrees with 600 mbar vacuum at the side port 1,6 bar.
To heat up the bi metal at 13,5 volt has 1,08 ampere.
Warm the control pressure was 2,9 bar.
Warm the control pressure with 600 mbar vacuum was 4,1 bar (to high)

After rebuild

System pressure set to 5,0 bar.
Cold at 10 degrees 0,4 bar.
Cold at 10 degrees with 600 mbar vacuum at the side port 1,0 bar.
To heat up the bi metal at 13,4 volt has 1,01 ampere.
Warm the control pressure was 3,0 bar.
Warm the control pressure with 600 mbar vacuum was 3,5 bar

Thanks Mike, I did flick through your thread and saw the pictures of your new WUR but didn't see the figures
Much appreciated!

July last year was when it got done. rebuild was 275 Euros.

KMI - never answer the phone
ATP - they were moving premises and couldn't help for 3 months

Ferrari400parts got the business.

Think they sell the kits if you're feeling adventurous.

Emailed KMI and got a reply within the hour, £200 plus vat plus postage.
Did think about a kit, the tricks in calibrating it afterwards
I’ve given it a good ultrasonic clean and will do a full cold to hot cycle once I’ve got a vacuum gauge and T piece.
It’s a lorra dosh!

I’m tempted to go down this road and get a rebuild kit too.
All in between a third and half the price of getting it reconditioned

Did a full cold to hot this morning

Ambient temp was 10 degrees

Cold start pressure was 1.4 bar 20 psi
Hot with vacuum was 4 bar 58-60 PSI
Hot without vacuum was 2.8 bar/40 PSI

So compared to Mike's rebuilt WUR it's all too high (which ties in with the emissions)

I didn't have a vacuum gauge but disconnected the vacuum line (which I blocked off obviously) for one of the readings and suddenly the car started to idle much more smoothly.

Steve at KMI had said that I should check that the WUR held vacuum and this would suggest to me that it doesn't albeit there's a possibility that the reduction in fuel pressure accounted for the better running

Interesting! Choice now is whether to DIY or not?

Ordered one of these, I’ve got what I need to mod it already, the kit comes with instructions that I’ll share here.

Diy’ing reduces the cost from £260 to £74.74 and means it’s adjustable

Being Scottish I’m reluctant to hand over my hard earned to somebody for something I can do myself

Bits are in the post
