I have never been happy with my Powerflow. Yes, it was good value, and has stayed on the car with no issue for approx 10 years, but the resonance / booming at 2500-3000rpm is bad. I complained about it and they managed to improve it, but it's till bad. I think it needs a larger centre box.

Interesting and not stupidly far away from me as I'm thinking about something for the 2.8 cabby and will certainly need something custom made for the Quattro cabby ...

Powerflow is a franchise so pot luck if you get a good one. Chances are low IMHO as they are do volume not quality. All the systems I've seen they have made look shit with crushed bends and poor fitment.

I agree with that, first thing I did when I got my 2.2 VTEC prelude was take the rusty, leaking, awful twin box power flow off it and fit a blue flame system.
The pipes didn't rust, the welds did! |

Its because they don't pack purge when they weld so the chromium gets "burnt" out and then it corrodes. Poor workmanship IMHO.

My coupe has a powerflow system , not got any issues with excessive noise , only gets loud at full throttle really . Been on there ten years now and apart from a clamp needing replacing its fine.

If you want bespoke, we get all our University stainless systems and manifolds etc. done here. Top notch quality, I hope they have a semi-automated TIG welder as the welds are so consistent!
http://www.christullettexhausts.com/ They're in Aylesbury, and nice to deal with Last edited by Brian83; 14-04-14 at 05:25 PM. Reason: Aylesbury comment |
