What’s different about a KK?
Would anyone know what the differences were between the KK l5 and the other non-turbo 2.2 l5s (KE,KF) of the period?
Think it was only used in the b2 80q? Thanks |

Hi, I have had a wee look online, KE 08/81-07/84 Audi Coupe, KF 08/82-07/84 Audi 100,
some early five cylinder engines had a longer taper in at the rear of the head and cam box, I don't know if this engine number is one of them found very little information on KE / KF engines. |

Thanks Colin,
I would like to find out more about the KK engine. Seems it was only available from 1981-1983 and then only in the b2 80 quattro. It had slightly more power than the other 2.2 l5s but I have no idea what the differences were |

I thought the 6hp difference to the KE was down to the exhaust manifold.
Peak torque was away up the rev range at ~4500rpm or higher which was probably why it didn't last long. KV was much more flexible. Pretty sure I've got an old VW Audi test article on the 80q from 1983 if it's any help

Probably is just the manifold, did wonder if anything else was different. From memory the KV bought in both a raise to 2.3 and hydraulic tappets. The KK just loves to rev though 😉 Would be brilliant to have any info or old road tests on the original 80q🍻 |

KV is 2226cc. It was the NG and 7A that were 2309cc
