Question Audi 100 urS4 / urS6 after run fan

Anyone had problems with the after run fan after switching the car off ??? Such as not working at all or starts running but never turns off resulting in draining the battery.....

Sorry in advance but never had a UrS6 but is the over run fan not controlled from the thermo/stat/switch in the bottom of the radiator, you will need to drain the coolant to change it but they are not expensive, one test would be, when the over run fan comes on after the engine is switch off, unplug the thermo/stat/switch, this is not a full proof test of the thremo/stat/switch because it may still be the relay, but the fan will be off and won't run down your battery, on the other hand if the fan stays on with the thermo/stat/switch unplugged you fault may be the relay stuck in the closed position, hope this helps.
