Audi a6 C4 2.5tdi in wales

Just wondering if anybody knows anymore about the c4 2.5tdi avant for sale on carandclassic ?

Hi there matt I spoke to the chap regarding the car as I was wanting to purchase the car, it has a short m.o.t. By now it requires the cambelt and tensioners replacing,its a cat-c- registered car , passenger side wheel bearing needs doing,passenger side mirror doesn,t move. Front bumper has came loose requires attension. This the email I got from the owner oh and he will not take anything less than £1500 pounds for the car too. As I have made him an offer below that £1500. The car looked nice enough inside and out . At least he was honest enough and gave details when I asked . I think it,ll be out of m.o.t now or very close to being out. A hope this helps mate. This is what I got from the owner.

Hi there matt its now on the ebay and also spoke to the guy again regarding the car, its now got a years m.o.t. And he has said he has turned down £900.00 pounds and is looking for £1500.00 no less.hope this helps.

Yeah seem a wee bit heavy priced at 1500 plus the work to as you said then car tax which you,ve got to do aswell . Who knows he might get the 1500 for it but it won,t be from my pocket.

Cam belt, tensioner and Water pump £150-200 depends on the quality.
Rear belts and idlers £30-50 again depends on the quality.
Aux belt £15-25.

To do the timing you need beyond the basics tools:
DTI with adaptors
Pegged C spanner to turn the cam.
Flat bar and gauges to set the pump drive.
8hrs if its the first time you have done it, 3-4 after that.

Yeah thats the car mate. It looks not to bad just seems a wee bit expensive at £1500 .

If 2 people aren't looking for this one and just want a work horse then £500-£800.
If 2 people are after it then £800-£1000
