Quick demo

Tach signal is blue/green on the instrument cluster plug on my 92 3b.

Shift light configured as 4cyl, set to 8000rpm, lights at 6000rpm.

Its ok for £27 posted, unobtrusive and flashes in your periphery. As the bulb is just two contacts you could easily bung the unit anywhere, and run a bell wire with a bulb and put the light anywhere you want.

i have fitted a light in dash all i need is a controller .i know what you mean with this setup its self contained and it means changing my lights over again .

Sorry, I didn't realise you had the light setup.

I still think that would be the cheapest option, just use it as the controller, remove the built in bulb and run wires to your light.
